Embraced vibrant but very affordable riverfront celebrations with live music and fireworks that achieved the closeness of community that made me feel so at home. Surprisingly prices of accommodation and eating were mouth-wateringly affordable enjoyed the soils cuisine of the South without spending too much. The warm Southern cherry on the cake made this trip one of those memories from the heart.

If you are looking for a perfect place to celebrate New Year, there is no other place like Mexico. One of the years, I found a last-minute deal in Cancun and decided to go for it. I remember one year being bundled up, braving the cold, and watching fireworks over Navy Pier. The show was terrific, but the winds were very cold.

There are hundreds of high-priced choices for indulging. One year, I went on a Caribbean cruise for New Year’s Eve. Gourmet, live music and the open sea created a multi-dimensional experience in memory.

Spending time at a luxury resort in the Maldives was also a highlight. The sunset over the blue waters and a private dinner on the beach felt like something out of a dream.

For people who love city life, Paris is a good choice. I think the magical light display at midnight by the Eiffel Tower, combined with the general culture and sophistication. It is associated with Parisian celebrations and warrants some excesses.
